About the Winter League 2010 We have finalized the details for the Winter League. It will run for 6 weeks starting Saturday, January 9 until February 20 (no play on February 13), with March 6 as a snow date for matches at Dupont Country Club and Penn Oaks. For matches at Hockessin Indoor Tennis, the league also starts on January 9 but runs until March 6 (no play on January 16, Feburary 13 and February 20), with a snow date on March 13. The sites and times are as follows: Roland Garros Advanced Level Dupont Country Club 8:00 – 10:00 pm Davis Cup Group 1 Advanced Intermediate Penn Oaks 5-8pm (first match will be played from 5:00 - 6:30 pm and the second match from 6:30 -8:00 pm) Davis Cup Group 2 Intermediate Hockessin Indoor Tennis 5:30 -7.30 pm The cost is $125. Apart from the tennis this includes the T shirt, trophy and end of season Banquet. We realize that this is much higher than the Fall but we have to pay for the indoor courts which are very expensive. For this reason there will be no refunds. Also we must have the fee with the application or we will not process the application. There are no practices. Because the safety of our players is of paramount importance, we may also cancel a session if we believe the weather is too dangerous even though the tennis club may stay open – in that instance we will still have to pay for the courts and will not be able to refund money for that session. Please note that this has not happened so far. We do have 1 snow date in all 3 sites(assuming we get Penn Oaks). Therefore if we are snowed off twice or more (gulp I do hope not!) there will only be ONE make up date. There will be 4 teams per league so there is a maximum of 24 players per league. If we are oversubscribed and/or you cannot make a commitment to every week we will have a sub list.
